You have all given me some great suggestions , I really appreciate it...thank you!

Uncle Pug-

Thanks...interesting ideas!
You touched on something I've been thining about for a while now. 2 questions for you if I may.

What brand of valves and manifolds do you like? (I favor the plugged valves myself for the reasons you stated).

I am going to "upgrade" to a Pressed Steel Tank(PST). What are you thought on HP VS LP and size (getting *one* now, but would like to keep the option open to mate it with a seccond later for my doubles set...I'm about 6'4" 215).

Thank you sir...and thanks again everyone for your help!!

Mud,
I have one Halcyon manifold and one SeaElite manifold... the are identical except for price... one cost $250 and one cost $170. Both are 300 bar DIN; come O2 ready and have soft rubber knobs.

I have had PST HP tanks (102s) and still have a few out in the garage to sell but I now use LP 104s because it is easier for me to fill... my nitrox bank is only 3500 psi when full and I use that topping trimix too. You probably don't want a short tank since you are so tall. BTW Shane is 6'4" and uses PST LP104s too.

If you are planning to double up and especially if you plan to mix gas you want to get the LP tanks.

Uncle Pug,
Thank you Sir!

I was also thinking about the LP104s (great minds... ;) )

The other day during a conversation someone said something that made me think that perhaps they might be a bit big to double-up. I really appreciate hearing that you think otherwise.

My favorite dive shop closed a little over a month ago...you mentioned the "DS4s and tx50"...do you happen to have a favorite place you buy from that you could suggest?

Thanks again!

Uncle Pug,

Just wanted to confirm.
When you said: "DS4. tx50" .....you meant Apeks, right? I know Zeagle has a "DSIV, ZX?...as well (just to confuse I guess)

Anyway, thanks again!
M.

DS4 is Apeks... first stage; dry sealed; 4 3/8" lp ports; no swivel.
Tx50/40/20 second stage.

Just what I have; others have others...

To bad about your dive shop is there another one you can establish a relationship with? What area are you in?
