DandyDon:
And welcome to Scuba Board :happywave a great place to chat, learn, compare, argue, etc.

With your own boat, you should never do without dive buddies or after dive brews. As long as you can also find one person to stay on the boat while the rest submerge.

For best results, put us in Favorites of your :crush: computer, and check in often.

Is your message don't drink and dive? Or, make sure you have a designated drinker?

Greetings to All

I am a recent open water in North Miami (Haulover) looking for dive buddies. I own a 25 ft boat that is really set up for fishing but can accomodate 2 or three divers. I like to dive on weekends, weekdays, holidays, am's, pm's, leap years and temporal distortions. I enjoy lobster hunting and spearfishing but am no expert at either. Chip in for gas and we're cool. I can dive on very short notice.

Peter

Welcome!
Post in Fl. Conch Divers- I am sure you'll find lots of new friends!

Well, yes - you want to save the drinking until after the diving. I have never been out on a private boat, but from what I've read - you want one competent person to stay on the boat while others go in. Never leave the boat empty. But I'm sure the Coast Guard and the local divers can tell you more.

Hope to meet you on the Singles Dive Trip to the Keys in March - yet to be announced.

Welcome to the board Pete. I've got a boat as well and am trying to get a few people together to do some diving during the week.

Maybe we'll meet up some day at the boat ramp.

I'm new to the scubaboard too and new to Miami. I private messaged you. Let us know when you're going out, we'd love to join you!

Wreck Wench:
Ooooh! Now you are at least in my state! So where do you dive at? The gardens are too far offshore for a smaller boat.

We go out of Freeport most of the time but want to go out at Matagorda more. We've made 65 mile runs offshore. My boat and some of the others have enough range to go to the Flower Gardens but we haven't yet. Stetson Bank is a great candidate though.

I actually prefer to go to a rig. The reason is that on a rig there is good diving at any depth but when you go to a wreck, you have to go all the way to the bottom. Air doesn't last long at 100 feet but I can stay down 45 minutes at 40 feet.

If you want to dive, all you have to do is contact us and when we go out, you'll be invited. We all share in the cost and the work and we all have a good time. Most dives are on Sundays because two of our divers work on Saturdays.

Hi Pete:

I'm a new member, as well as a fairly new diver (+/-10 dives). I'm originally from New York, but now live in Ft Myers. I also have a 27 ft Baha, in for repairs. I'm always looking for a fun dive. Weekends or evenings are also best for me. E mail me at gfasano@comcast.net. Look foward to hearing from you.

Welcome to the board! Glad to hear of another person with a boat. I do mostly shore diving, so anything off a boat is a treat. I like to lobster, but the spear fishing is not my stuff...oh well...
Look forward to diving with ya sometime...
