We're putting together another Cozumel trip and I keep running into these super cheap deals for Suites Colonial. I've never actually stayed in San Miguel before. It might be interesting, and it would save on car rentals too.

Opinions???

They say Colonial can be too noisy at night due to bands playing bars in the area. Right now my first choice would be to return to Casa Mexicana...

Yeah, I read that the bar accross the street is owned by the same guy as the hotel and they play loud music late at night.

Casa Mexicana looks really interesting to me too. I've never stayed there but the pics look good. It was built around 2000 right? It's about $135 more pp than Suites Colonial but it's still cheap. I'm paying for three divers to go on this trip and the money saved staying at Colonial would just about pay for two of us diving. Tough choice.

Suites Bahia is between the two in price and may be a good fit -- same ownership at all 3 -- and the bar owner is someone else. At Bahia, go for balcony rooms! They sometimes offer free upgrades if you reserve via their website.
