Has anyone been diving locally? Wetsuits? I just got back from a vacation to Mexico and was hoping to get one or two dives in before the end of the season. What are some water temps in the area? CapeAnn? CapeCod? RI?

Thanks All

We are entering that time of year that the air might be colder than the water.

I dive wet during the summer when diving from shore. I made my last WS dive end of Oct and I thought it a bit chilly but others might enjoy it. Water temp was upper 40s/low 50s.

Thank God for drysuits.

I agree with you 100%, Green. Any time I want to roll out of my car and into the ocean, I'm diving wet. I hate diving from shore in a drysuit. Past October through about the end of May, I'm all about the drysuit no matter what, but I certainly do prefer it when I'm on a boat no matter what time of year.

Or, thank Dick Long.

I hear that. My CF200 has kept me warm through some mind-bogglingly cold dives.

Heh. I actually dive a Bare suit, but I think it's funny (in a 6th grade sort of way) to write 'Dick Long.' If we were discussing NASCAR, I'd probably bring up Dick Trickle or Randy Johnson if talking about Baseball. :)

We did Folly Cove this past Sunday. 46 degrees at depth. Everyone was feeling it, dry or wet. But it wasn't so horrible that I wouldn't do it again this weekend.

Down here in RI the water temps were down to 55 as of Halloween so it is a little warmer than north of the cape as usual. There is no thermocline.

Due to all the wind stirring things up the visibilty has been pretty bad the last few weeks.
