Grendelweld (sp) was captured by Dumbledore and sent to the bulgarian(I forgot the name) prison. LV did in fact travel to the prison and killed him there after trying to find out about the Elder Wand.mania:

BTW, did anyone notice an explanation of what happened to or where was Crookshanks? I missed it if there was one, but so far as I can tell the cat didn't make an appearance this time.

Yes... HP was in LV's head when he was at the top room of the tower at the prison torturing him. He didn't get the information he wanted, so... avada kadavra.

I was peeved that snape turned out to not be a complete evil SOB. Not surprised, the possibility has been there, I just don't like him having redeeming qualities, LOL.
