limeyx:
what an absolute pile of junk ending. I honestly can't believe I waited years for that.

This has to be some kind of joke, right?
Well, it sounds like an attempt at one, but I don't think your delivery worked out quite as well as intended.

Wayward Son:
I didn't know what the story was at all until the 1st movie came out. Worked with a guy who had read the books to that point who saw the movie & said you didn't need to have read the book before seeing it, so we went. I enjoyed the movie & picked up a copy of the 1st book. That did it, at the end of that I had to know what happened next, so off I went to pick up more books. Wasn't long & I'd read all 4 & was waiting for 5.

That's almost exactly how it went for me. Saw the first movie, then read the first book - Goblet of Fire in less than a week.

It's a great story, can't wait to see Order of the Phoenix and the last two movies.

what specifically didnt you like Limeyx???

the whole thing rubbed me the wrong way I guess.

Although I suppose we can't have the "kids" all being upset at a less than perfect happy ending.

No one important really died. I guess I was hoping for something spectacular, and got mediocre.

its still a children's book through and through.

the ending seems to pave way to whatever jk rowling is planning to write about next....

I was hoping to see a series on Fred & George post Hogwarts (loved those guys), but I guess that won't happen. Loved the book, though. I wish she told more about what the gang did after the war as far as careers and other family matters go. Just seemed to leave a little.
