The only major change I woud suggest to your plans is to not "get them serviced' but do it yourself. Not only is that combo a first class reg, it's a perfect first DIY choice as well. Loads of help here with any issues you have.......on second thought, if that regs is going where I think it is, go with it and learn to service it there. :)

Absolutely. When I mentioned "serviced", I was speaking of bring them by AWAP. I hope to become a student of his.

I was given two MK 5/190 regs yesterday. I am not into single hose, so I am offering them to those who may be. They were serviced recently by certified tech at Canandaigua, NY dive store. I am asking $100@ or BO. They are excellent.

Congrats on your acquisition. This is the same rig I have used for 34 years and it has never let me down. My Mk 5 was originally a Mk 6 but had it "upgraded" back in the mid 80's. I bought my regulators back in 1978 when I first got certified and the were 7 years old then. My 109 was also upgraded to a balanced adjustable and I use a 108 for an octopus. It is the only regulators I have ever owned!

I spent the afternoon over at awap's house and watched intently while he went thru the regs. The MK5 was perfect as is. Awap replaced the poppet and diaphram on the 109 and made final adjustments. It now breathes better than my S555. I've put the 109 on my MK25 as my secondary. Also replaced an oceanic psg with a SP brass and glass that I got with the regs. If the S555 doesn't freeflow, I'll switch it to my secondary and use the 109 as my primary. In the meantime, I'll be looking for another 109.
