....2 piece Single Tank Adapters. Anyone got one? How does the it attach to the BP? Can it attach to a non H/H BP? (looking at the pics, it seems like the spine of the B/P would sit inside the groove on the STA, or am I just seeing it wrong from the pics on the web?)

Or suggestions for any other simple, light, travel ready STA?

They bolt onto any plate. The wing nut sits in the groove. I have both the one piece and 2 piece STA from Hammerhead and they fit both my Hammerhead and DSS plates just fine.

Ok thanks. You wouldn't have any pics of them mounted would you? (the pics on their site lack depth making it very difficult to see what is what)

So does it form a W around the spine of the BP? Or does it stick out past the spine making a U with the bottom of the U being on the spine?

(If I don't make sense, let me know. I am just trying to see how far they stick out)

Linked the photo in the previous post. It's from the top looking down. There isn't a real difference in design between the one or two pieces. The two piece is real just a one piece that has had the center 4 inches removed.

edit: I think I know what you are asking now. I guess that a plate that has a wider spine may not work with this STA. What plate are you trying to have it fit?

The wide part of the "W" is what the tank rests on. The bottom of the flat in the middle matches the width of the hump in the BP. The ridges on either side of the flat (bottom points of the "W") slightly wrap around (down the sides) of the hump. Each piece of the STA has a countersunk hole drilled and it bolts to the plate with the included bolt and wingnut.

I have the hammerhead plate and the 2 piece STA and the fit is great. Can't comment on adding it to another plate. The angle or width of the hump may be different so YMMV.

My wife and I took ours to St. Lucia and they worked great. My weight was perfect with no wetsuit though I added a couple pounds for the safety stop when the surface got rough. No problem weight-wise on the plane.

BTW, this is a bit off-topic, but the handle cutouts on the BP are actually pretty nice to have. They aren't rough and it is easier to move the whole rig with a tank on it by the handles rather than the webbing. I was kinda skeptical at first, but I like them.

Does NOT fit the Dive rite ABS backplate.

Trying to fit it onto my OMS S/S plate, but by the looks of it the H/H plates are a slightly diffeerent angle and design.

Any other suggestions?
