Heh, no, it was just because I went into more detail about the BC and what it's "C-ing" for and how to figure it out..... but then I started to feel like an impostor... you know, beginning diver giving advice and all

I thought I'd get word from the horse's mouth and I contacted Laura, a Halcyon consultant. She replied to me PM with a lengthy response and also said the 40lbs would be more appropriate for me. The wing's practically 15% larger in size than the 30lb only, and she advised that I may need the extra lift in some cases. That pretty much settled it for me. Considering Halcyon Infinity owner and regular users suggested the 40lbs, the Dive Shop too and the Halcyon consultant, I feel certain enough it's the right choice.

Thanks for all the help!

You should get one of these too:

I'm not sure if that was in response to the op's comment about what he decided to purchase or to some of the other people you've been arguing with. But if it is a douchey comment in relation to the OPs purchase choice it's kind of a di*k move considering he's a new diver not even yet certified trying his hardest to make a proper purchase.

If I'm offbase and its not directed towards his last post then I apologize, and maybe an explanation of its direction would help.

FWIW, I took it as directed 100% at someone OTHER than the OP.

Why did you decide you shouldn't post? BC there's at least one person who seems to think if you are woman you can't possibly have anything to contribute to the OP? :rofl3:

That was exactly the type of response I expected from you so thanks for not disappointing. This thread started with the OP asking about assistance selecting gear that was appropriate for his needs (actually there was a prior thread with more specifics). The comments I made were regarding a 'drive by' posting--the type that adds very little to the topic. If you can't understand how that type of post only adds to the noise then I feel sorry for you.

Considering that the most intelligent direction for the OP in 4 degtree Centigrade water will be a Dry suit, and not a wet suit..You indicate the girls have no business talking about their choice of the 30 lb wing, but in Dry suits, their choices are very relevent.

Scubaboard discussion threads are supposed to be like a bunch of us sitting at a table talking about diving...I would not want to tell someone they have no business joining the conversation, if they want to...
Maybe you and Tortuga should have become censors for network TV, where you can get paid for your desire to restrict conversations :D

Your reading comprehension in regards to this situation appears to be just as bad. Can you imagine if everyone dropped in equipment threads with responses like 'I use that reg'. Anyway it's obvious we see this differently, however I'll leave out the ad hominem.

It's not reading comprehension...it's "who" you invite to the table.....You can sit at a table for two with tortuga, and the two of you can take turns censoring each other :D

Whatever. If SB has an ignore function you're first on my list.

EDIT--well since you have some protected status the 'ignore list' isn't an option. How unfortunate.
