Jack,

If you try to get a GUE instructor again, let me know. I may be able to get a few guys for a class. The Tech 1 or Cave 1 class would be cool. They have some tricks and tips that I'd like to figure out first hand.

Great response about the PADI thing, Jack. I've heard of a few PADI instructors who are DIR and teach DIR from the get go. They go out on a limb by ignoring some of the junk PADI requires and instead make up their own program and put out really decent students. I've heard rumors that GUE is working on an OW course.

I think if you're decent salesman, you can convince new students that the BP and wings is a great choice, especially if that's what they were trained in and saw the great advantages the BP offers. IMO, the BP and wing can practically sell itself after one has used it. One has to remember that as they advance, they'll need new wings (bigger) -- which is the expensive part anyway. So, there is some upgrading to do, and I believe that many people would respect that advice and honesty in the long run and return to the shop to do more business.

Take care,

Mike

L_Y,

I will definately let you know if we can put the GUE class together. There are probably more people interested in the TECH 1 class than the Fundementals class (which would be best for me). Would you guys be able to come "down yonder" to the big city?

Everything would have to depend on the circumstances: date, duration, the class, etc. Everything would have to be right, but there is certainly interest up here fer sur!

Mike

I agree with you about the Tech 1 class. Everybody up here (who might be interested 2-3) is well past the Fundementals part.
