BTW, if you believed anyone who said the Eclipse is made of "bullet proof materials" I don't know what to tell you.

If the seams are fraying, you shouldn't be taking shears to your gear, you should be taking it to the dealer.

FWIW I've seen lots of well-used Eclipse wings with no fraying. Not that Halcyon has the best quality control in the world, but you should get this taken care of.

Well, I just add 10 dives on my Halcyon at the local quarry so far. The fraying on the pictures was right after two dives last Saturday. I trimmed all over before those two dives though

How's the fraying? Still getting it after your dives?

Hey Halcyon User II-Fraying Wing Seam.

I am not sure if you guys had the same problem that I am being faced with.
After having weekend dives, I have seen that many frays come out from all area in Eclipse wing’s seam. The picture is worth than 100 words:

I have trimmed it several times, but the frays keep coming out all over the seam area. I am told that the Eclipse out-shell is a bulletproof materials though.

I had a chance to see Oxycheq Signature wings that has been used more than 40 times last weekend. But, I didn't see any frays from the Oxycheq wing.....

In addition, there is a stain in the STA panel, but it doesn’t go away. I tried to brushing it with tooth brush, but it doesn’t work… My halcyon rig. only saw the the freshwater so far. I rinsed my gear religiously after every dive. What is this?

Any insight will be helpful.
Thanks in advance,

bro i have the same problem on mine and it ahs been less than 20 dives. i especially get it bad in the bottom part of my bc. i gave my lds a look at it and he says this happens to about 2 in every hundred eclipses. he wrote halcyon and they are replacing mine.

by the way my sta doesnt have any stains like that.

by the way the seams will eventually come off and you will have a the outer shell completely coming apart. the lds showed me one wherein the seams were all ripped apart. for now im still using mine til i get em replaced

Finally, I contacted Halcyon and got the replacement last week. I was told that there were some bad patches. They only replcaed the out shell though. Their warranty service is a top notch....

i am yet to receive mine. how did they get the new one to you?

Fraying:
Trim off the whispies with some sharp fingernail scissors, then get a tube of Super Glue and run along the edges.

STA Stains:
Are you diving steel tanks?

What do you mean by that? It is the warranty service. They replaced the outer shell, not all wing. I contacted them by email with the pictures I post here.

The quick customer service was another main factor when I chose my BP/W set up.

That's what I have done except the Glue one. Like I said, I got the new out shell.
Do you recommend running the glue even on the new wing?

STA Stains:
Are you diving steel tanks?

Yes, Sir!

BTW, I saw Corigan's BP. It looks great. Do you have any pictures of BP?

. . . can't hurt!

Yes, Sir!

. . . without a closer look it's hard to say, but it's possible that it could be some light corrosion caused by galvanic reaction between the tank and the STA if the STA is aluminum.

Sorry, don't have any pics of the B/P's to post yet.
