Thanks a lot Sean!

I'm looking for an Apeks elbow without the dump but so far no luck finding it as a spare part.
The non PSD WTX wings comes with these but I am not sure it is possible to order them separately.

But if the dump stays shut while diving, then I will just order the hose.

Hi everyone,
sorry for bringing the post back up.

I brought my Apeks WTX-30 PSD wing to my LDS together with a shorter corrugated hose that I wanted to have instead of the long original one. I thought it would be an easy replacement.

The guy who works there (and who always does a good job) tried to install the new hose. But there is a leak and air is coming out of the extremity of the hose where it connects to the elbow. He also tried to put the old hose back and there is still air leaking.

I now ordered the non-pull-dump elbow from Apeks and I hope it will solve the problem.

But I wanted to ask if anyone has a suggestion to fix the problem. Are there some sort of glues that can/should be used?

I would not like not be able to use the wing because of this...

Well we used to unnecessarily use glue, but then hose off is difficult and can damage the hose
Now considering you are there and we are here posting photos of your issue would be helpful

A slice or two of bike tyre tube as a gasket with two cable ties on ill fitting stuff works wonders

Have you done your own test in a tub of water

Thanks happy diver!

Unfortunately, the wing is at the LDS, so I cannot take pictures right now. The leak was audible when I went there yesterday and the employee and I also checked it with soapy water and you could see bubbles.

The bike inner-tube is a good idea! If the problem persists with the new elbow, I'll try this next.

Edit: I just called the guy with this suggestion, he told me that if the new elbow doesn't work, he will try with thread seal tape used for plumbing.
I'll update the thread once we solved the problem in case someone else runs into this issue.

With two elbows and two hoses and two leakings, you are dealing with one idiot
or at least someone that should not touch things, like a mechanic that swaps out
every auxilliary component from your cars engine because they don't have a clue

It is a one inch hose on a one inch pipe, that seems to be leaking within one inch ish:fear:

:D
The new elbow should arrive tomorrow, so I hope the leak will be fixed by end of the week!

The frankenwing is finally back together! It help air for 2 days fully inflated, it should be fine for the upcoming liveaboard!
