Plate shape has almost no effect on the relative position of the band bolts to the diver's back. Bolt length does, but plate shape does not.
Consider any set of doubles. Regardless of the profile of the back plate the tanks themselves will be offset from the divers back by the thickness of the plate and the wing. A plate with a deeper center channel will have more of the bolts projecting through than a flatter plate, but using a flatter plate *won't* position the tanks and bolts any closer to the diver.
Bolt clearance is largely a none issue anyway because the shape of the human back. Back up to a wall. Now try to get your spine to touch the wall at the points where the tank bolts would be.
