Ummm....ok...you lost me there, but ok.

some would consider july 3rd part of the holiday (as medic diver did) because it's the holiday weekend, Chicago does there fireworks the 3rd, etc etc. By saying Haigh IS indeed open for the holiday leaves a bit of doubt on whether or not it's closed at any point during the entire holiday weekend. If I drove 150 miles round trip to get to Haigh and see it was closed I wouldn't be a happy camper. The bottom line is it's indeed closed on friday the 3rd and your posting confuses a thread where if you weren't planning on showing up why are you posting in the first place?! *sigh*

I really need to get into the water! Work this week blows- 48 hours from wednesday 8am-friday 8am, friday 6pm to saturday 6am, then saturday 8am to sunday 8am, diving friday inbetween work and sunday. :coffee::depressed::shakehead:

When is the holiday? I say the Holiday is July 4th, because well, it's the 4th. The 3rd maybe when a lot of people are off and companies observe the Holiday, but it's not the 4th. The 3rd is the 3rd, and the 4th is the 4th.

Now, I bet Tina is closed on the 3rd, which is not a Holiday, because she is going to have a family BBQ to celebrate without people mucking up her backyard. Plus it would financially behoooooove her to be open on the 4th, the Holiday, because it's a Saturday and Saturdays mean $$$.

In fact, I think I may just grace the quarry with my presence on the 4th, the Holiday. But, I will certain enjoy my day off on the 3rd, which is not the Holiday.

Hi,

I would love to get some sleep on the couch at work Thursday night :D and join you guys on Friday. I haven't been to Pearl yet so it would be something new and some experience with low viz from what I've heard. (And not having to plow my way back along the Dan Ryan on the way home would be great!)

They don't even have tanks or fills there, right?

Edit: read their lengthy web page and noticed they do have fills but not gear.

If I have to work on the 4th than it's not a holiday! That's my story and I'm sticking to it!!! :doh2:

Back on topic for just a second... I'm leaving Des Plaines at 8am friday and will get to Pearl Lake as soon as I can, hopefully not later than 9am. My plans opened up a bit so I don't have to be as rushed as I thought. I might try and squeeze in 3 dives. I'm back at work that evening so I'd like to get out of there by 2ish to beat traffic back into the city and relax for a bit.
