Reef and Ridge is across from the fairgrounds and next to American Woodyards. - Couple of door down from Bruke Brothers Hardware.

They are not in a shopping center or in a newer building.

Yeah, I went by there today in my tour of all the Raleigh/Cary dive shops.

Reef and Ridge is on the opposite side of the beltline than the shop I was talking about earlier. I'm not sure what it's name used to be, but they weren't exactly a scuba-shop. They sold masks etc but I don't remember regulators/BC's etc.

I liked Reef and Ridge, alot of artifacts and a homey atmosphere. The reg's seemed a little pricey, but they always do when you've checked the online prices hehe. I came in out of the sun, half-blinded, and was greeted by a tiny barking terror. I near abouts pooped on the wetsuits.

I stopped at Down Under Surf and Scuba in Cary last, and it was my favorite. They are the only shop that I've found that seems to have accepted backplate/wings and sell DiveRite and Halcyon gear. They also have Apeks regs at about the same price as Leisure Pro.

Now it's a toss up between Gypsy's ScubaPro trade-in deal or the great deals on the reg's every one raves about at Down Under. I can't wait til my paycheck comes! :crafty:

well both are great store's both have excellent staff and equipment down under reference DIR stuff gypsy well pretty much scuba Pro myself like my APEKS .

I got certified by gypsy divers back in 1989. Good people.

Well, I'll give my 2 cents worth. Reef and Ridge Sports on Hillsborough St. (near the farigrounds) Is the oldest dive shop it North Carolina...Ron has been diving with the who's who of diving for many years. They are a scubapro dealer as well and give great deals and service.

I can't disagree with this. I bought some SP twin jets and were satisfied with them until I tried my sister's twin speeds in PNG. When I returned I went into R&R to price the speeds. I was surprised when he gave me full trade in credit towards the purchase of the speeds. I can't say enough good about the fin or the store!

Sadly, I think Bill's Scuba is gone for good. Their website seems current but their new store location is abandoned, I went by there yesterday.QUOTE]

What happened to Bill's SCUBA???

I'm not sure, there website is up to date advertising trips in the future but they're no longer at the Newton Rd address. I drove by there and the sign is up on the store, but it's empty.
