Just returned from a wet rainy week in Ft. Morgan. Tried to dive Tuesday the 2nd... cancelled due to lightning. Lightning actually hit the marina while we were waiting on the boat.

Try again Wednesday... nope... same thing.

Thursday... finally...

I was diving with Down under. Dive masters Beth and Pat whom I have dove with before.

We dove Three coal barges. Nice site. Max depth of about 58 feet. Fairly strong surface current. It broke at about 20 feet or so. Vis was about 40-50 feet on the first dive. It got mucked up and wasn't as good on the second.

Saw a barracuda that would have pushed 5', snapper, gag and black grouper and many of the usual reef suspects. I got a little disoriented on my second dive and used my compass to get me back to the anchor line.

45 minute dive times both dives.

Glad you had fun out there, maybe next time we can meet up for some dives if I'm not working :D

I have dove that site before. The vis was only about 20-25' when i was there last year about this time. I remember when leaving the dock we had to idle out of the harbor for like 45 min and the predive briefing was every bit of that. I thought that was sort of lengthy for a predive briefing. It was like taking the dive course over again. I guess they are looking out for our best interests though. Nice boat!
