We're planning a family vacation to the Gulf Shores (Alabama) area sometime next summer. Probably end of June. Not exactly sure yet where we are staying, but it could also be Orange Beach or Fort Morgan area.

I am looking to do some diving while in the area. I'm certified (with about 30 logged dives), but will be alone so will need to hook up with some sort of outfit. Any suggestions on charter companies or options for this area?

I highly recommend Down Under. They will take you to several nice wrecks. They will also show how to dive the jetties and the Whiskey Wreck which is a shore dive. The boat is nice and comfortable.

I also used them for the Oriskany and had a blast.Im going back this summer and will use them once again. They are in Orange Beach but close enough to Gulf Shores if you stay there.

check out gulf coast dive society om facebook. many of their members are locals and have great suggestions and know the cool spots to go.

Try the LDS REEF oba We have a new custom built 6 pack Dive boat with reef permits. It has a head,A/C, seat (racks) for 8 divers 11 foot beam 34 foot log 4 x11 dive platform with a large ladder. Terr 5 Yanmar Diesel . All aluminum and fast! We are set up with lots of room to spare.
