Hey guys - already made a couple of posts here, but I just wanted to get out and meet more of you guys.

Got my OW with SSI and quickly found out it was basically a certification to learn.

In my first few posts I learned so much from this board. There is such a mix of people ranging from conservative views on diving to very much liberal views on diving. The exposure to such a wide variety of opinions is priceless and far more valuable than one scuba instructor's opinion. (Although I listen to that too)

I look forward to talking with many of you.

My wife and I got certified together, but I am far more interested in expanding my abilities under water than she is. So, if you are ever in NC and need a dive buddy, by all means give me a shout.

Cya around.

Welcome to ScubaBoard! :happywave

Glad you're getting your money's worth! :crafty:

Dive safe!

Christian

P.S. Due to the high volume of new posts in the Introductions and Greets forum, it's not always possible to keep up with all the new posts here. So, please help me out and send me a PM if you post anything you want me to read or repsond to in this forum.

Welcome to SB, ScubaPilot.

I'm fairly new here myself. I find myself on the board more and more, though. There is a lot of good information out there. I don't post all the time, but I'm constantly reading over the information in the various forums.

My wife and I got certified together, too. She's into diving and learning more, so I do have a constant buddy, but we never mind tripling up. We haven't been out to NC to dive yet (it is on our list), but when we do, we'll post a thread in the NC Wreck Divers forum a couple of months in advance.

There it is!
Welcome to Divers(ity) Inc.!
I find my self spending way too much time here, the rest of my life seems to be disappearing into eating, breathing, sleeping diving. But I'm faced with the question "Is that a bad thing?"
Maybe that could be a good question for one of the forums.
Enjoy!

Now for my stock message, which is still under construction:
This is a great place to meet people, talk about diving, and get information on just about any aspect of diving -or other subjects sometimes- that you can think of. Roaming through the forums is great help for me.
When you post a question, be as sure as you can that it's in the right forum or you'll probably find it moved.
The folks here are passionate about their diving, some about their specialty, so the reading can get very interesting, sometimes very hot.
Don't forget, if you haven't already done it, to fill out you profile as completely as reasonable, it'll save you being asked and having to repeat the information often.
Enjoy!

Welcome to the board!

Welcome to the board. My husband and I certified in May and at first I did it for him, but then it happened. I put on my new drysuit and got bit hard! Now its dive dive dive. Even made a trip to Cozumel, the water is sooo nice and warm. I have to say though it is nice to be back in Alaska. Do you dive dry in NC?

And welcome to SB - the biggest, the best, the fastest growing, and :D the friendliest!
If you'll simply click ScubaBoard.com above, you'll be taken to our long list of forums, a wealth of information and resources. My favorite is at the bottom: Singles - discussion, trips, and classifieds.

I was just out there early this month, to dive on the wrecks off of Atlantic Beach. Neat!

Sizing a photo for your profile or Avatar can be a challenge; I'm a fumbling amateur, but I get the job done, if you'd like any help? PM me if I can help you learn your way around; that is - click my username to the upper left, then follow the prompts to send me a "Personal Message." :thumb:

Hi Pilot,

I'm new too and I also love the board.

Give your wife a little time. I got certified in order to dive with my husband and at first I was a little hesitant. Now I'm the one planning the dive trips and buying all the dive books. (He still loves it, I've just turned into a big scuba fan.)

Tell her to hang in there -- it just keeps getting better and better.
