I have not reviewed any GUE materials, but the IANTD manuals are terrible. My experience and the training received with IANTD instructors has been excellent, but the material they are provided to work with and provide to their students is the worst I have seen from any of the agencies I have been certified under. (PADI, IANTD, SDI, TDI).
That was exactly my experience - the materials were both terrible and simply weird. Also, as far as I can remember, they didn’t even cover everything
 
I actually enjoyed my Advanced Nitrox, however I do believe the Technical material should have been the first read, expecially for someone that knows they will pursue the technical realm!

That's what happens when they let the wife of the owner edit the manuals. They were terrible back in 1996 when I did my first course with IANTD and they were terrible in 2021 when I did my last one.
