At the risk of being a troll ...
The Troll - The Troll exists purely to post controversial items and then sit back and watch the fun. The more people who 'bite' the bait the better. A full-blown flame-war across multiple newsgroups is better. Unlike the Flamewar Starter, trolls rarely join in. They just like winding people up and seeing how many people swallow the bait hook, line and sinker. There's a saying on newsgroups: YAATAICM5P "You Are A Troll And I Claim My Five Pounds" to challenge someone who is obviously trolling the group. A good troll builds up to things. A good troll lurks to see what topics rattle people's cages.

GUE is a non-profit company, not a "money maker" I am in no way affiliated with GUE (other than making an annual contribution to support it).
If you are interested in GUE's finances, write and ask for their 990. It is the non-proft tax return. It lists all income and expense and even compensation for its top officers. I searched Guidestar.com which is the database for non-profts online and while GUE is listed, its 990 is not posted (that is optional for a non-profit)

PS. For profits have a responsibility to return equity to their investors by making a profit; non-profits return equity to their community by addressing a community need. In order to achieve non-proft status, a determination is made by the IRS that the proposed organization serves to "relieve government" of some burden.
... however... after receiving so much value for $$ spent from instruction at 5thD I must say that (imo) Andrew and crew (including MHK) are definitely giving much more than they get.MikeFerrara once bubbled...
There is alot of money being made by some parts of this system while others may qualify as non-profit.

Police are investigating what they discribe as "a gang or cult related attack" on an elderly diver. The victim, a man known as
Lawman, was known for his kindness to others.
Witnesses say that as Lawman came from his LDS he was suddenly attacked by a group wearing double tanks and with long hoses wrapped around their necks. "They was yelling stuff like "kill the troll," and " PADI sucks", said the dive store operator.
Written on walls near the body were slogans reading " helter skelter" and "off the NAUI pigs." " "From the savagery of the attack we suspect GUEs" said police." We think Lawman was
SSI and wandered onto their turf."
GUEs should be approached with extreme caution and remember
NEVER ATTEMPT TO JOKE WITH THEM!
