Has anyone been diving in the southern section of the Grenadines? I am looking for info on the dive sites around Union Island and Canouan. Has anyone been diving down there that may be able to share some info? I can't seem to find a lot of info.

I've seen a few posts about the shop on Union Island (Glenroy Adams). What about the Canouan shop? What about the dive sides near Canouan vs the sites near Union Island?

thanks much!

There a lots of good sites South of Canouan and North/East of Union. If you are going to be shore based, Union is a bit better located to more sites in the Tabago Cays, Horseshoe Reef, and Mayreau. Glenroy is the choice on Union (has been for 20 years!). On Canouan there is Canouan Dive Center, but they are farther from the Tabago Cays, located in the Charleston bay, and may not want to make that run everyday. Send them an email to see what they offer.

Just arrived back from Palm Island. What a place! Absolutely beautiful and low key. Bring your DEET!

For diving, we dove all week with Glenroy's shop. We booked our dives in advance, as Palm Island directs people to Canouan Dive Center. They charge an adder to motor down to Palm Island, whereas, Glenroy with Grenadine's Dive is 2 minutes away on Union Island.

Glenroy runs a great dive outfit. My wife and I were the only people with him for four out of five days. (late October low season trip). We were diving most days with Anton, who is a low key diver. He won't over-talk your ear off, but will help and share as much as you want!

The dive sites are amazing! I strongly suggest you check out one of Glenroy's "numbered" dive sites. There is one site where we saw > 10 reef sharks and > 10 lobsters. Along with plenty of eels and other things. It was my favorite dive site! The visibility most days was great! He is a no frills dive shop, but hey, it's all about the diving in my book.

Small boats, back deck roll, lots of help getting back in the boat. Quick boat rides, very safe dives with conservative profiles. I can't say enough good things about their crew!

I can't wait to get back to the southern Grenadines!

Thanks for the report! Good to know you had success with Glenroy and he is still going strong. The Grenadines are not commonly on the diver radar, but are some of the best diving in the Eastern Carib. In addition to what you have already discovered you have lots to pick from when you return: World's End Reef, and the reefs around PSV. Not to mention Petit Martinque and Carriacou on the Grenada side of the "border". Easy to spend lots of time underwater there!

Don't Forget us on the Big Island of St. Vincent! We have every kind of diving available just a short boat ride from our shop, Dive St. Vincent In Villa. Wrecks, walls and lets not forget the critters!! Custom Packages for your trip or just stop by and rent a tank. Were very laid back but serious about Diving.
