Greetings to the Great Lakes Divers - Totally just got chased off the Keys with Rita coming and no diving got in :( So much for warm-water diving this year.

Name: Mike T.
Age:22

Max Depth: 100ft

I'm interested in finding some people to dive in the cold waters. . . I'm not afraid - working to hopefully get drysuit, advnaced, and nitrox certified soon. If anyone wants to take me and give me the shove to do it - I need it! I have all my own gear, 7mm wetsuit so like I said cold doesn't bother me. . . Can access southern WI very easily.

We will be at Gilboa for a meet-n-greet Sept. 23-25, come on down!

Welcome, Mike, to 'da Board. There are folks diving every week from the local harbors, call some of the charters and ask them if they can help you find a buddy. The quarries in Rockford and Kanakakee are still operating and sometimes you can stroll around and find buddies after the classes finish up, say shortly after lunch. Or you can contact and of the local dive clubs. Most local shops operate captive clubs but there are a couple of independents groups, including the Tritons right in your area.

Good group even though they let me dive with them - a good way to start is just to show up for one of the monthly meetings and introduce yourself.

I am diving France park Sun. It is in Logansport IN. The local dive shop is actually having their treasure hunt but will be diving several dives and am looking for a buddy.

Me and My GF are also going out this Sunday to France Park. Maybe we can all do a meet and greet there :).

Hmmm I'm supposed to be at Gilboa too but that tropical water at France Park and the near guarantee of seeing a Paddle Fish is tempting :)
