Casablance, far and away the greatest - intrigue, romance, honor.

Perhaps not the greatest ever made, but great movies:
Pirates of the Carribean (I) - creative, very funny, full of adventure, honor again, and Johnny Depp sold it.
Cool Runnings - funny, honor, very emotional (I still get a chill watching the end of the last race)
White Christman - a classic. Great entertainment, funny, and honor (I still get a lump when the General walks into the show at the end).

Many more too.

Your thoughts.

Ooops. That should be White Christmas! I type faster than I edit sometimes.

Agree on Casablanca and White Christmas, also like The Long Gray Line with Tyrone Power and Maureen O'Hara. More recent films would include The Big Chill, Jeremiah Johnson and others which escape my memory at this late time.

Braveheart is up there...I agree.

Okay..ya'll are not going to like this.

THE ENGLISH PATIENT!!!!! I saw it like ten times...SO romantic. pitter patter...my heart. war, romance, espionage...it has everything.

Titanic, Sideways, Brokeback Mountain: Honorable mention

English Patient was great

The Thin Red LIne is a very underated movie

somebody already mentioned The Godfather (1 and 2)

Apocalypse Now, Das Boot, Gandhi, The Right Stuff, Amadeus, Brazil, Blood Simple,
Full Metal Jacket, Miller's Crossing, American Beauty, Fargo, Boogie Nights, Fight Club, The Matrix, Pulp Fiction, Kill Bill 1 and 2...
