Greater Tampa Area IX started 12/28/06

Hi all,

I'm flying down to Tampa this Saturday 1-27-2007. I arrive 2 10:30 am and am looking to do some diving Saturday afternoon or Sunday morning. Is anyone going to Hudson or Blue Grotto or any other place ? Doesn't look like the weather is going to be good for gulf diving.

I'm available this weekend, and I'm only 30 minutes from the Hudson Grotto.

Well my initial plan was to get liquored up and wander aimlessly around Tampa this weekend, but on second thoughts id rather dive. I'd like to drive up north a little and dive some of the springs. I have new gear I'd like to play with, and some new toys (handheld sonar, underwater MP player, nitrox analyzer maybe) that I want to test out. Would anyone like to forgo the weekend festivities and spend some time in the water? If so let me know. All my buddies will be sauced up so i need a companion! I'm happy to drive (SUV) and I'm told I'm a great conversationalist, especially under wanter!! Ive been sick lately and now I'm feeling better i really wanna' get some down time!!!!

My plans for this weekend got pushed back and my husband will be doing the Gasparilla thingy. I'm game. And I am not familiar with area so .... let me know

Its made by i-river....come out this weekend and you can try it out!! Shirley I'm not hugely familiar with the different springs in the Gainesville area. Ive been down on Blue grotto but i know there are a bunch more, lots of posts here on the boards. Ill do some research and try and figure out an itinerary. I was thinking a fairly early start (9am first dive which has me up by 6 for the drive) then move onto a different spring, then lunch (picnic style) then another dive in the afternoon? If we can try and get even numbers that way everyone has a sure buddy. Lets see how many others get interested and ill do some more searching on our options and post back later.
