The "recreational anglers don't matter" myth was debunked over a decade ago. Heck... even *Texas* uses NOAA data to regulate certain fisheries (e.g. red snapper) from recreational over-use. Texas... heh.
Google "recreational fishing effects" for some fun data. Or just cut to the chase and hit up Appendix A from this NOAA report. Commercial fishing is still the Big Nasty, but... well... check for yourself.

Back to the thread topic, I was diving off Lauderdale last week, and I swear to God every two minutes I scanned 360 degrees for that #% white shark about to eat me. Neuroses suck.
