I have only fished makos... lots of makos... and it seems like once they get any bigger then 6 foot thats when they start to get the shoulders (girth) The last mako I got in that size was bout 225-250lb... dont know how close makos are two whites but that weight does not seem that far off to me maybe a bit under

It would have to be something special to get me to take another mako... I did my damage and developed a respect for them. good meat on them lots of it too!

here are a few smaller makos that we maybe 60lbs to give you an idea of size... im 6'3" for reference

I caught a 100lb'r once. I will never forget it. Faught harder than a sailfish twice it's size.
I aggree with you, not sure I could do it now....best fish I ever ate, though....
