I have seen seals at HWR on the surface several times but never while I was diving. Yesterday Green Manelishi and I had a great uw seal encounter. GM was behind me and the seal came up and grabbed his fin. He got my attention and pointed to the seal. This thing was HUGE. If you were to put your arms around this seal you would not be able to touch your hands. It was the fattest seal I have ever seen. It kept an eye on us and made a complete circle around us. We remained still to avoid scaring it off. After one pass it took off.

I have always wanted to see a seal at HFW. What a great way to conclude the dive day.

It was a great day and thoroughly enjoyable diving.

Regretably (?) my fins do not bear any tooth marks. Man the stories that I could make up ... :eyebrow:

I'm glad I'm not the only one that gets disappointed when my fins don't have tooth marks. Two harbor seal chews so far (one of them a multiple attack!) and not a one! Think I should send a letter of complaint to Mares?
