I received this note from Capt. Gary Venet Sr. a while back.

Another member has asked me to post it as they are away from home at the moment. I would go, but I live too far away and work afternoons. It sounds like a great time to me though. I am told that their are still lots of openings.

I just got my brochure for the Chippewa Valley Schools Adult Education Porgram. There is a wookshop being offer on Great Lakes Shipwrecks.

This is the information:

Did you know that over 6,000 ships have been lost on the Great Lakes? This workshop will explore the history of shipping and shipwrecks on the Great Lakes, from the first French settlers up to the sinking of the Edmund Fitzgerald in the 1970's. Topics covers in this wookshop will be a history of shipping on the Great Lakes, Famous Shipwrecks, The November Witch, The Great Lakes Triangle, Native American folklore and one session on the Edmund Fitzgerald.

Instructor: Ron Bruce

Time: Wednesdays from 6pm to 8pm. 6 weeks
Start: Wednesday, January 24, 2007
Call to register: 586-723-2050
Cost: $48.00

I have never heard of a class like this being offered before. This sounds like a very informative and interesting wookshop for us shipwreck lovers. I will be attending.

If you are as interested in the Great Lakes and Shipwrecks as I am come join me for some history of the Great Lakes Shipwrecks.

Give them a call @ 586-723-2050 for registration and school location. It will be in the Clinton Township - Mt Clemens area.
