I also would recommend Jim Cleary's Ladies of the Lakes II. You mentioned that the storm of 1913 interested you especially the story of the Regina, which he covers quite well.

If you look at the Port Huron museum's website I loaned them my model of the Hydrus and Regina from Wayne Brusate. They have a whole exhibit on the storm of 1913 going on.

Yikes!!! It was a limited print but not that rare! I picked up a copy about 10 years ago from the Marine Mart in St. Clair for $8.00! Maybe I can digitize my copy.

That would be appreciated!

digital a whole book ? wouldn't that take a week ?

What else is there to do? Blew my left eardrum out during a practice dive last week and my drysuit is leaking like a sieve. So I'm out until DUI is back and my ear is healed.

sorry to hear that bud ...............hopfully you'll be recovered if and when this cvd is over

A new book to add for your Great Lakes collection should be John DeBeck's: Daniel J Morrell Lost But Not Forgotten.

It's the most extensively written book on the 1966 sinking of the Daniel J Morrell in Lake Huron. Our group has worked with Mr. DeBeck for almost 3 years on his project and producing more evidence than ever before.

From amazon:

"Author and Shipwreck Hunter Ross Richardson is often thought of as the underwater "Indiana Jones" of America's mid-west. In 2010 he discovered the wreck of the treasure ship "Westmoreland" which is considered one of the most sought after shipwrecks in the Great Lakes Region."

Book is very comprehensive read of the Westmoreland's history and Richardson's efforts to find it. I enjoyed it.
