The wife and I picked up our gear yesterday.

We ended up spending close to 4 hours at the shop. Divers-Supply in Macon is incredible.

My wife ended up Mares Kaila BC. It fits her like a glove!

I tried on a dozen BC's. I'm fairly tall (6'4"), and finding a BC that fit correct was tough. My intention was to buy a Oceanic Excursion, but it just did not fit me right. In the end I ended up with Cressi-Sub S111R. I was told comfort was the biggest thing to consider when selecting a BC.

We both picked up Oceanic GT3 regulators, Oceanic 180 Swivel Octos, Oceanic Veo 100's, boots, fins, and a few other misc items.

I hope the equipment is the only big ticket purchase.

The direction we choose was simply due to what we had read on the forum. A love the "search" function.

Excellent! I have the Cressi Sub Aqualight R and I love it. They make a great BCD. I wanted the Mares Kaila, but I'm a college student and money is an issue. Congrats, now get wet!

hope you like your gear. here is a little bit of wisdom if you ever decide to go buy another BC. Zeagle will make a BC to fit you. because they know not all people fit a standard size they will peice together parts for you. say a medium is to small in the shoulders, but a large is to big in the waist, they will put large shoulders on a medium waist for no extra charge. that way it will fit you correctly. have fun and dive safe

You picked a great shop. I've been in there a few times while passing through on my way to/from FLA. They have a great selection of gear and the people are very nice.

Congratulations on your new gear. When and where are you going to dive with it? :D

I was with you right up to this point. Now that you have your own gear, the sky (or, ocean as the case may be) is the limit. Start looking for trips to Roatan, Cozumel, Bonaire, etc. If threads on SB helped with the gear decisions, I'll bet you can get even more help on dive destinations!:D
