Went out on the sundiver express yesterday. Started with a nice smooth crossing. Then dive 1 was at little farnsworth. Love the structure there. Saw some eel, sea salp and a jelly that had just eaten something. Saw a lobster so huge that, had someone caught it, they surely would have let it go. Visibility was about 40 feet. Temp was 52 at 113 fsw.

We went on to dive Kroll's. There were sooooo many egg sacs it looked like a sci fi movie. No more than a couple feet between each nest and each was about 2+ feet in diameter. Saw the usual eels, cleaner shrimp, etc. Temp was 53-55 and visibility was probably the same 40 feet.

Lastly, we headed off to Rock Quarry. At about 50 fsw temp was a warmer 55 degrees. visilbility was down to about 30 feet. Nothing too exciting on this one. Plenty of the common fish that you literally would see every dive, though. Just a nice leisurely stroll underwater. Didn't even find the butterfly fish this time...a first for me. Probably because I told two new divers I see them every time. Damn it!!! :dontknow:

Heading back was almost as smooth as the trip out. Surface conditions were ridiculously good. The sun was shining all day but incredibly comfortable. About 70 degrees but if you sat still in the sun, very warm. Light winds. FLAT!! Just a great day of diving!! Hope you all are having the same luck this weekend.

A big thanks to Captain Kyaa and Mike (acting Captain) for another great day aboard sundiver express!! You definitely make it fun.

Captain Kyaa and the Sundiver crew have been doing you good lately. I've never dove Little Farnsworth before. When dropping down onto the pinnacle, what depth does the high point sit at?
Thanks for the report.

Hey Frank. Yeah....kyaa is one of the only ones in my local area that go out during the week on a very regular basis. Plus, being a smaller, faster boat they don't need as many to make a trip. I love that they will sometimes even spend a little gas to find better viz or, like yesterday, just play. Dolphins were surfing the wake as we left the island so they did a big circle to extend playtime and photo opportunities for the divers.

I think one of the pinnacles extends up to about 55 fsw. Where we descended I think it was about 60 fsw. There's more than one pinnacle from what I understand.

Thanks for the invite, I have to say that was great diving experience. The last dive was #25 for me so that was cool for me. Little Farnsworth was awsome. I want to do that one again. The neatest thing was seeing all the squid eggs. They were all over the place. THanks to Kyaa and Mike for a fun non rushed day on the Sun Diver Express.

Went out on the sundiver express yesterday.
Lucky you :)
But did the almost save dive on Saturday, with little more people on the boat though !

We ended up the same place and saw the same. Really funny these little squids !
Small short video about this dive:

nice week-end for sure, better for those who started it Friday !

A big thanks to Captain Kyaa and Mike (acting Captain) for another great day aboard sundiver express!! You definitely make it fun.

indeed.

Nice work stargost....now ya just gotta tell the buddy to secure whatever it was hanging down. :D The sundiver express is definitely a no-frills boat. However, I'd rather have a no frills boat with a crew that focuses more on the quality of the diving than the ride there and back. Whether it be throwing in an surprise extra dive, hopping site to site to find good viz or an unexpected trip to the back side for a couple dives, they really do their best to provide a great diving experience every time out. One of these days I'll have to do another trip on their big boat. Only been on that once but about 10 times on the sundiver express. :cool2:
