Just picked up from Craigslist a pile of diving equipment for $30. It included 2 BCd's (1 Oceanic and 1 foley) a couple of masks, 4 sets of fins, booties a knife and an octopus (mares MR12 dfc). I know the octo needs to be serviced to make sure it is safe, but what about the BCD's? They are from around 2002 and have been sitting in a garage since than as the owner died. I bought them from his sister who was just getting rid of his few remaining items. My daughter and I are looking to get into diving and figured this was a deal I couldn't pass-up.

Put some air in the BCD's and see if they hold air. I would probably get them serviced because the power inflater may need service.

It's pretty simple to "service" a BCD but I'd get the BCD's looked at if you have no idea what you're doing. Congrats on your steal of a deal! Now go get signed up for an OW class and learn how to use it!

Hi, I am new to this site, just joined. I am also new to scuba. I am also not sure if I am posting in the correct place but here goes.

I have a question I am hoping someone can answer. What is a fair price for a MK iii Farallon scooter? It has never been used and has no batteries?

I see to Farallon MK iii scooters on ebay one asks $1400 (used) the other $2600 (never used) no batteries

Thanks
