I ordered a couple of Aquatica ball arm clamps and when they arrived I noticed they had what appeared to be white lithium grease on the threads. I was wondering, does anyone put a thin layer of grease on the ball arm clamp threads to make them work better?

I keep grease far away from my ball joints to make the clamps grip better.
Can't say if I'm doing the right thing or not, but with how cheap o-rings are I can't see any harm in it.

Grease on the clamping threads: good.
Grease on the balls/o-rings/clamp-ends: bad.
