amm91 once bubbled...
Hello all! I am new to this site, hailing from NYC.

I am planning a vacation for my family to Grand Cayman over Christmas/New Years. I've been to GC once before (2 yrs ago) - we stayed on 7 mile beach and did some of our first dives with Bob Soto off the West wall. We had a great time and have been excited to get back (diving other places in the meanwhile). I'm looking at vacation condos and one of the best options (price and space) is located in Cottage on the south side. The condo is apparently well located for dives on the north, east and south walls. I know the West wall was fantastic, and I've heard that the conditions on the east end can be touchy. Can anyone out there make a suggestion whether I should aim to pay more and stay in the 7 mile beach area, or venture to Cottage. I appreciate your input.

Anne

My two favorite places to stay are
Sunset house, active bar to hang out in, great shorediving year round, great dive staff and has the Manta for 3 tank all day dives. Sunset is within walking distance of Georgetown

Cobalt coast with Dive Tech on premise, the Lodging at cobalt coats is great, Arie (the owner) only has 18 rooms so he gives everyone personal attention. The lodging is up in west basy so its off the beaten patch.. a car IS necessary and is included in some of his specials. Divetech has a top notch staff...
