Recently booked an 11 day RA itinerary for next January 2019. I was told that the Indonesian govt has decided to move some of the tourist dollars from Sorong to Waisai by having the boats use Waisai. I guess additional infrastructure will be added in Waisai.

Since this is my first visit to this area I am waiting to hear more but I guess the biggest change will be the impact on flights to book since we will have to allow for the 2 hour express ferry on arrival and departures.

For those who have visited both areas, which would be the better place to stay if you needed to overnight - Sorong or Waisai?

Also, has anyone else heard much about the changes?

I searched the forum but did not see anything.

I am new to the board (not diving) and have enjoyed reading the posts on this forum.
