Howdy,

it's that time of year again and I'm getting ready to make some new bands. The Texas oil rigs and their finny friends are out there waiting.

I'm looking for some amber or black coated or blue coated amber band rubber in 1/2 or 9/16". I'm guessing the prospective 'dinner guests' will notice coated bands less than the beautiful looking just-plain-amber.

Found one source of 1/2" amber but they want $3.00 a foot. That seems kinda high.

The alternative is to just order some bands from Divers Direct, Bands R Us or International House of Bands.

Thanks in advance.

PS, I'm old and weak so 1/2" or 9/16" is just fine.

Fish always tastes better if you shoot it before you eat it.

spearfishing specialties sells some bright yellow stuff that is pretty nice check out their site kevin is a good guy and keeps very fresh rubber. the bright yellow won't scare off your fish but if you lose your gun it makes it easy to see and when you surface the boat can see it too.

Mike, the best rubber for you would be Biller 9/16 black coated amber. This rubber is very soft and stretchy. Not sure about the "deals" out there, though. I'm guessing $3 is a little high. You might want to try Mori rubber. This stuff is tough to pull but it should be OK in the smaller size or longer cut length. I think Kitto charges $2 + shipping for bulk amounts. You can ask him what he would charge for a few feet @
