I keep seeing the questions on What is Dir? and most of the answers are all over the place.
Heres an essay on a very nice Dir website that I've used many times in the last few years. (The 32% table he has is in many of our wetnotes!)

Its a nice essay of "Why DIR" but other than

The DIR system is a strategy and the goal is safety. It encompasses both procedures and equipment but more important are the values or ethics that were used to come up with the rest. Some call this mindset.
It actually doesn't say what DIR is.
