Quick question, Im going to Miami the first week of December. Can I use a 3mm wetsuit or Im I going to need a 5mm. Any suggestions?

It depends on your PCT (personal chill tolerance). Plan on water temps in the low seventies, and dress accordingly. I'd opt for the 5mm, and probably bring a hood... but that's just me. I've seen others dive South Florida year-round in just a swimsuit!

Typically, the water temp is still 76 or higher in December since not many cold fronts will have arrived yet. Once the cold fronts start rolling down, we dive in cycles since the wind typically blows from the west before the fronts arrive.
