I met Lisa Queen while shore diving at Sunset House. She invited me to do a night dive (on her own time, just for fun, and she picked me up at the resort). Lisa was a blast to dive with, and took me to the best dive spot that I had been to all week.

She works as an instructor at DNS

DNS: info@divenstuff.net 1-345/94SCUBA. Cell: 1-345/916-2490

I've never heard of DNS before. I've been cruising around their website this morning - they sound really interesting. It doesn't look like they offer a package price for 3 or 4 days of diving. Can you comment on that?

I like the smaller dive ops. I have all my own stuff, so I'm not worried about the rentals. I will give these guys a call today.

Thanks !

If you really want to see dive sites that are not along SMB, take at least one day, get up early and make the drive to the Eastern Districts (Ocean Frontiers or Tortuga Divers). Tortuga is a part of Red Sail and they tend to be a little tighter about depths and dive times than OF. They are also a little farther away from town than OF. Be forewarned that the East End is somewhat of a crap shoot depending on the weather. You could very well end up riding the boat 1/2 way back to where you came from, but there are worse fates.

The drive out will actually get you to a part of the island that isn't all resorts and strip-malls. While you're out that way, a trip to the QE2 botanic gardens is worthwhile way to off-gas.

Thanks, Bill - great suggestion. I'll contact them today.

I am giving another vote for Wall to Wall, you can see the write up I did in this forum a few weeks ago about my trip with them last month. Ocean Frontiers is top notch too.

Hey Scottydawg:

Thanks for the second on wall to wall. I'm looking at their website now & sending them an email. The only question I have - which their website doesn't answer - is will they pick me up / drop me off for dives? I'm asking them that - plus a few other questions - by email.

Thanks again,

John

Here are some things I liked about them including answering your question:
-They will pick you up and drop you off.
-They carry everything to the boat for you while you get paperwork in order the first day of diving.
-They will keep your equipment safe and ready at the shop if you would like to leave it with them for diving the next day. No need to haul your BC and Fins back and forth everyday.
-They get all of your equipment ready for you and make sure everything is working before the dive.
-They work around your schedule. We wanted to dive late morning or early afternoon so they picked us up at 11:30 and we were on the boat at noon. Most other dive ops start there PM dives about 1:30 so we had the whole West Bay/South Sound to ourselves everyday.
