I'm staying at Cobalt Coast & diving w/ Dive Tech.
Is it a good idea to get the food package there or not?

I hear the North Wall is excellent.
Any suggestions on best dive sites up there (North)?
Do I need a wetsuit this time of year?

I'm meeting my folks down there who are not divers. Any suggestions of things to do topside?

Thanks for thie info!

Few answers:

- Dove North wall this afternoon; just got back home after dinner in town. Registered 83 & 84 degrees on the two dives. Only one guy in our group had a wetsuit. If you have one, I guess there is no harm using it, but the water is plenty warm IMO. The ocean was the calmest I have every seen it today ; was great!
- Cobalt knows the North wall well, let them take you to the best sites. One of my best dives was at Black Forrest.
- Take your folks for the snorkel outing to Stingray city. Its a 3h boat trip and a lot of fun. Also, make sure you go to Rum Point. You will need to rent a car for this. From Cobalt its +-1h drive, but well worth it.

have fun.

Roombaguy is spot on. DT does a great job with the diving. Snorkeling or diving Stingray City is a must-do. You'll not soon forget the experience.

Mrs DS stayed at CC with her neice a few years back. If you'll just be there a few days, the meal plan is fine. If you'll be staying longer, get a car and head into the SMB area for some meals. Eats is always a favorite, and is reasonably (for Cayman) priced.

Thanks for the info, guys!

By the way, what's to do out at Rum Point?

Barry

Sit on the beach and get overcharged for watered down drinks while surrounded by 100s of other tourists who were told "You've got see it". :dontknow: It's a nice beach but its crowded and feels a lot like spring break in Florida to me. Now the botanical gardens I would go out of my way for again and it's something that very few people bother to go see.

I respect your opinion, but disagree! All the guest we have over here rave of Rum Point and always go back a second time during their stay. On week-ends in the afternoon it can get busy, but outside of that its a fabulous place to R&R.
