Hello All,
First post on boards. Read lots of interesting things. My question is, my soon to be wife and I are going to Australia in February. We are going for 3 weeks and getting married in Port Douglas. I was wondering if you had any suggestions for great dive sites/companies that are fairly reasonably priced. Just a day outing is good. We are renting an rv and touring the east coast. Port Douglas down to Melbourne. We just got certified in April, but we love it and have gone a few time since. We live in Green Bay, Wi so there isn't a whole lot to dive up here. Just around Door County. Any help would be useful.
Thank You

:sunny Hi there! My name is Matt. Welcome to Scuba Board! I came here looking for help with my diving dream. I’ve met a lot of nice divers and many helpful divers too. I think you will get the information you need from SB. I look forward to reading more of your posts about your diving adventures. If you’d like to chat, please PM me.
I am looking forward to seeing you some more around the boards!

Hi and welcome to Scuba baord.
I have just come back from a week in Far North Queensland - Port Douglas up to Cape Tribulation. I dived with Haba in Port Douglas a 'small' boat for that area - 50 people - but only 5 divers the rest snorkelers. You can't really determine the site in advance as they go to where they think the conditions are best on the day, we were at Opal reef. We had a good time, sharks (small), ray, turtle, and several nemo look alikes and coral although not as vivid as I remeber from 10 years ago but maybe that is my memory or failing eyesight or maybe not. About $A115 for a full day all gear hire and three dives. I have also enjoyed diving in the Whitsunday area (on a mini cruise) but don't know anything of what else is on your route. Post a question in the travel area for Australasia and you will get more advice.

Howdy!

I just want to join the others in welcoming you to SB. Hope to get to know you around the forums. This thread may get moved to Australia and Southern Pacific, but if not - check that forum out anyway for local contacts.

It's gonna' be a little quite around here for a few days, as our Florida friends hunker down to hide from a big storm, :sofa: then get their electricty going again, and many other members enjoy the holiday weekend. I'm In Ontario to dive the St.L myself, but I brought my laptop with me.

Completing your Profile and seperately - keeping your Dive Info up to date helps in future diving instructions. PM me if I can help you learn your way around.

Congratulations to you and best wishes to the bride!

Check out our Australia & the Pacific Islands forum for more information about the areas that you'll be traveling in.

Dive safe!

P.S. Due to the high volume of new posts in the Introductions and Greets forum, it's not always possible to keep up with all the new posts here. So, please help me out and send me a PM if you post anything you want me to read or repsond to in this forum.
