Maybe the GLWC could take a dive trip someplace. Perhaps we could plan a dive trip to the St. Lawrence or one of the Great Lakes. Maybe a Florida trip this winter could be done.

Funny that you should mention that. I have a boat booked in Brockville for Labor Day weekend with only two seats filled (including myself). If anyone is interested....

I'm going to Brockville September 9 - 11th and can't wait.

We could plan a dive trip to Lake Michigan diving from Chicago...

Well - there's really only one wreck to dive off Chicago - the Straits of Mackinac. Only one real charter to get there... Chicago Dive Charter.... I've only heard bad things about the 'other guy'

N'pursuit is a good boat - nice capt. The impression I got - most of the stuff off N. Indiana is debris fields - Ken can correct me if I'm wrong as he's done more dives there. But I prefer wrecks that look like ships - not piles of lumber.

Waukegon, Kenosha, and Milwaukee are farther up for you guys and on the other side of Chicago = major travel time. Thats why I threw out Sanilac. For me its a 4-5 hour drive, same as hitting Gilboa, the Michigan folks are right there, Ohio folks might be looking at 6hrs I think. Easily doable for a weekend trip.

Brian,

I have to settle some baby issues, but I hope to occupy two of those seats as I thought I remembered you saying that these dives would not require tri-mix. JP and I will not be going with the local dive shop to Munising this year so I need to dive somewhere.

Ok - I'm entrigued. How far to Brockville...?

Depends on if you move to Jackson, Michigan during your relocation. Think about it cheap housing, central location to all Great Lakes diving, close to the quarries and a local dive buddy with trailer.

Believe me - I briefly considered someplace in Michigan... The Straits, Kingston, Brockville, Sanilac, Alpena all right there....

Only people that plan on attending this Meet and Greet are asked to vote on the location that they prefer. I will put an "other" category in there as well. Please explain in the thread if you pick that one.

What is the date of said meet and greet? I am in the Keys until mid Aug.

I was at Portage for the DAN BBQ last weekend and the viz was just as bad (maybe worse) than it had been the year before. I'd consider Whitestar only because I've never been there before. Gilboa works fine for me even though I've seen everthing on the shallow side, too.

Honestly, the M&G's are much more about the people than the diving. (Although doing the deep side with Brian in April was cool. ((and COLD))
