currently i use oceaner three finger 7mm gloves for most dives up here in cold waters. i needed a five finger glove to have better dexterity for side mount diving so i tried the scuba pro "easy don" dry gloves which i still have.

so i am again looking for glove options. this time in a neoprene 5 finger. here are the ones that are my only options (don't ask)

if anyone has any experience with any of these please let me know your thoughts

- bare 5mm sealtek
- xsscuba 5mm dry 5 (i like the idea of the double cuff and the taped seams on these)
- akona 5mm quantum stretch
- oceaner titanium sea otter
- pinnacle merino neo 5

apparently there is a scuba pro glove similar to the xsscuba which also has a double cuff but i could not find it online so i do not know what it is called. and i am not sure if it is glued and blind stitched.

thx everyone

Either drygloves or are you sure you can't do what you need to do with 3-finger mitts? 3-finger mitts are so very much warmer than 5-fingers. I'm just thinking that fingers get cold so easily and so very uncomfortably.

I find that my fingers are much more nimble in 3-finger 8mm mitts than in any dryglove. Also more nimble than freezing fingers.

I use Waterproof G1 5mm neoprene gloves. They are really supple and well fitting, so they do not flush as much as other wet gloves. They have Glideskin around the openings, so they are very easy to put on with wet hands.

I'm not sure about the other gloves, but I've tried a pair of the 5mm Bare Sealtek. Unless you buy gloves way too big for your hands, the wrist of the gloves are simply too tight to get your hands in and out of. I ended up returning mine after trying them out. I've met three other people who have them and each of them have said they had to stretch them out to the point of ripping them just to be able to get them on and off. Take a pass on these gloves.

if you want wet gloves, the Waterproof G1 fit the bill as "okay" (I dive Tobermory) as the ease of putting them on and taking them off is good. I would also suggest 4-th Element 5mm "semi-dry" (Spiderman Gloves), but you will need some form of a "food handling" glove to wear to slide them on/off, especially when wet. I know Jim Lapenta likes the Dry-5 by XS, and they were next on the list but I went to dry gloves instead. DRIS has a nice "non-permanent" that works nicely with latex seals.... Not much more than many of the "upper level" wet gloves initially, and very inexpensive for the gloves/liners afterwards...

Good luck. Gloves are something that is judged by "what sucks less" rather than what is "best".....

Neoprene is neoprene. Find a glove that fits and allows the dexterity you need. Look for sealed or taped seams and how they seal at the wrist.
Without looking at images of the gloves on your list, it appears XSScuba has the nod.
I used 5mm Whites Heat until I went with dry gloves. Warmer and better dexterity

I've used 5mm Henderson Aqualocks in 42*F water and wasn't cold at all. Excellent dexterity. They also make a 7mm.

Like these? These are 7mm not 8mm.
