I usually use 5mm in Lake Erie until it really warms up in late June. For me, anything thicker and I loose too much dexterity, anything thinner does not offer enough thermal protection. Sometime about mid - late June, I switch to a thin kevlar glove.

I use 5mm scubapro gloves. Keep me warm enough, although you can feel the chill after 35-40min. Nice to also have some hot water handy to take the chill out of the gloves between dives. Not everyone agrees with this method, though.

Just dove yesterday - Quarry - 41 degrees - 40 minutes - 5mill gloves. Fingers were fine.

depends on a few factors...I was diving drysuit and bare 5mm gloves. Water temp dropped into the 30's and had to switch to Henederson Hyperstretch 7mm with curved fingers like you asked. No block hands. I think long gloves help too. Ice water on wrist seals must take away some heat. Although after the initial shock they're fine.

i have been diving my 4 mill pinnicle gloves all winter
good dexterity and my hands are warm
thats what ya want

I use 5mm Henderson hyperstrech in cold water (55 - 65 or so -- I try to avoid the cold water). I like the way they go on. No wrap around the wrist stuff and the fingers are slightly curved.

I wear 3mm to handle the descent line when wreck diving. Mostly I just like my bare hands.

So compared to the Bare 5mm (I have the gauntlets), the Henderson Hyperstretch 7mm are available precurved AND are warmer without losing all dexterity?

That would be great news...especially if I can get them in the instadry version. Anyone else have experience with these Hendersons?

I use 5 mm for summer shore dives. Otherwise, I use 7 mm semi-dry mitts. But I am a girl with skinny fingers, and my hands are the first thing to get miserable.
