Instead of just dismissing them, why don't you just ask for a pair and try them out. At first glance I was skeptical. Even when Roy sent me a pair, I was skeptical. Then I tried them, I am no longer skeptical.

What do I need them for? What benefit are these gloves supposed to provide me?

Almost 100 posts in this thread and I've still not seen anyone enumerate any meaningful benefits that these gloves might provide to someone with adequate buoyancy control, proper trim, and effective propulsion techniques.

Thats a really good picture, It looks professionally done. Hansome devil you.

Seeing you with your fingers laced in front of you like that makes me wonder, how long does it take for a human being to train themselves to do something so un-natural? Ever watch a turtle? Is his form bad? When swimming, his front legs are used more like our arms. Was nature wrong by webbing his "hands"?

You do not NEED them. Nor do you NEED jet fins, split fins or fins of any kind for that matter. I could probably make the same claim for a host of things you take diving with you.

Point is, that if in fact you have read the last 100 posts you would have seen divers use terms like "I love them" or "I think they're great"! While others have toned it down by saying "I think their pretty neat but they offer no thermal protection". I have not asked anyone to say anything except what they honestly thought. At the end of the day their will be those who do and those who don't.

Besides, Who gets to decide what "good form" is?

I'll be happy to send you a pair free for you to try for your self. Then you can post whatever you want to.

Are you afraid I'll convert you over to the DARKFIN side? LOL

Congrats for making a great product, with extra kudos for being manufactured in the US.

Hey Chris, you remeber what you said in an earlier post about not being made in "FRIGGIN CHINA"? We are going to use that on our website and our other advertisments and labels. Ha, "NOT MADE IN FRIGGIN CHINA" I love that.

Here is my review! I'm going to be very honest in the plusses and minusses.

First, despite measuring my hand against the .pdf size chart at 100%, they are really, really tight. The next size up looked too big on the .pdf chart but I wish I'd gone up one size anyway. It's hard to get the first one on and REALLY difficult to don the second.

The first thing I noticed is that they made my hands really hot. I was diving Cay Sal Banks which is warm water anyway, but I really couldn't wait to get them off. I think that I would really APPRECIATE them in winter or springs diving. For warm water you may wish to consider a vented or perforated back something like what some bicycling or golfing gloves have.

So far as using them, I had to laugh at myself because I instinctively cup my hands when I want to make a quick turn without using fins, and of course these don't work when you cup your hands, you need to spread your fingers! Laughing at myself I "got it" and boy oh boy are they GREAT for a sudden turn you would need while taking pictures of an elusive sea critter.

I normally don't use my hands when finning but I did try them and I think I was laying a wake, I was going so fast!

I showed them to everyone on the Nekton Pilot and they were intrigued. One diver works with an HSA instructor and is going to recommend that he stock up on them (I gave her your web URL). However, nobody wanted to try them...maybe because they are SO small that they really didn't fit anyone.

I won't use my pair again until the water is cooler, but I think I will give them another try, although they really are hard to put on and take off. Thanks again for letting us try these out and again, think about a vented/perforated back on them.

Ron, I am intrigued and don't give a hoot about the "solution to a problem that doesn't exist" opinions. Anything that will aid in making diving more fun is a solution in my mind.

My question is that I shoot a lot of video and need the dexterity and durability. I currently use Aqualung's 3MM (LG) Thermocline Flex gloves when diving here in SoCal and they are plenty warm enough for me. The problem is that I tend to wear holes in the 3mm gloves pretty fast.

I have a pair and thus far I've used them snorkelling and swimming laps in the pool.
They fit great feel kinda cool and they work well.
For snorkelling, they work best swimming out to where I want to be from the shore.
Once there, it's just like diving....they serve no real purpose....as far I'm concerned.
Though they do make the surface swim alot less fatiguing leaving me with more energy reserves for the swim back...which is less tiring due to the gloves.

As far as the pool, they're nice for isolating arm muscles.
You'll get more distance from each pull but you get more resistance from each pull as well.
It makes working out in the pool nicer because I can swim less laps and get the same results.

One thing I did notice snorkelling is that they weren't camera friendly at all.
I had a difficult time shooting photos with the gloves on.

My next eval will be shore diving with long surface swims.
I'm willing to bet these will be great for that.
Just swim out, take em off, descend, do your dive....surface, put em back on and swim back.

There,........your swim is evenly distributed between arms and legs.

Just swim out, take em off, descend, do your dive....surface, put em back on and swim back.
Did anyone find them EASY to put on and take off? Maybe I have a sizing issue or maybe they really are hard to put on and take off?

Yeah, I can tell you I really struggled with the whole "which finger goes where" thing for quite a while! Worst is once you finally get it together and then you separate your hands to check your SPG or something and then you have to attempt to get them all interlaced again, while maintaining your position in the water column. Even harder in cold water where you have to do it with gloves on! Not to mention on a night dive where you need to interlace your fingers in the dark. Now that's a b!tch!

:d

Lots of people love lots of things. Doesn't mean much. You still haven't told me what the benefits are that I should expect from this product. I don't think it's a hard question, so I'm hoping that maybe you'll answer it with something other than silly allusions to turtles.

Again, since I don't know what these gloves are supposed to do for me I'm not sure why I'd want to try them. Therefor it would be unfair for me to ask you to send me a pair. Thanks for the offer though.
