Nah I'm with TS&M on this.

Whilst they may be useful for those with mobility issues for everyone else they're a solution looking for a problem..

i look at it this way ..roy is cool enough to offer them for free and get some feedback after testing ..hell i'll go for it ...they may or may not work well for my intent ..so be it ..but they may have a use for something else..i'll make my view after i have tried them out and see

It's my understanding that the split fin was developed to overcom fin "wobble" not increase speed. Although Increased speed might have been a bi-product.
If you split the webbing on Darkfin gloves you would be right back where you are now. Useless little hands dangeling at your side.

I just left Weeki wachee springs (Florida) yesterday and have video that is going to really get your shorts in a twist.
While divers are busy diving and having a good time, OL Roy is watching every move they make and I have done it for years. When I get this video posted to utube you will see first hand, believers and non-believers in the same water at the same time. You're going to see experienced certified divers using their glove-less little hands in the exact same way that the webbed glove users instinctivley used theirs. Without exception all divers in this video that chose NOT to wear Darkfins not only used their hands but they had their fingers spread apart in a NATURALLY open position.

I understand that some of you just are not going to get it. You would think I'm trying to sell Einstiens theory of relativity to them. This ain't rocket science. It's ok though, I'm a patient man who has raised 3 children and now have 7 grandchildren so I have learned how to explain things to small minds.

The next time you see a turtle don't just snap off a picture of it, WATCH IT!

The willing will lead the way...the un-willing will be dragged along!

I'm in the Keys right now trying to make as many divers mad at me as possible. Ok, not really...I'm trying to give away these crazy gloves. If you see an Old dude in a Darkfin t-shirt loitering around, humor him and ask him for a pair.

The Devolution Continues

Still a problem in low viz/low light situations where you will still see only a dark webbed hand.

While admittedly I've not tried these, they pretty much seem like a classic "solution to a problem that doesn't exist" other than potential for disabled divers.

Instead of just dismissing them, why don't you just ask for a pair and try them out. At first glance I was skeptical. Even when Roy sent me a pair, I was skeptical. Then I tried them, I am no longer skeptical. Then I went one step further than most people have the opportunity, I met Roy at Weeki Wachee. He was honest, sincere, and showed me a side of him I do not think comes across on this forum or on his website. He has many, many years in this project, has made thoughtful and careful observations of not only human divers and the way they really behave underwater as well as the animal kingdom, from which I believe he gets his inspiration, I could be wrong though. The amount of detail that Roy has thought through and incorporated into these gloves is outstanding. I have noticed with far too many products that it seems that the designer of some products must not ever use or have used them. Poor design shows up in so many ways from concept, quality, packaging and marketing. With Roy and Darkfin this is not the case. Congrats for making a great product, with extra kudos for being manufactured in the US. Worth their weight in gold, although they are pretty light so that may not be the compliment it was meant to be.
