I was there 2 weekends ago.

The water was nice and warm (low 60s) down to about 40 feet.

Out by the tubes, mid 50s. We didn't get any deeper than that.

Viz was good. The plane is still there...the bus is still there. There's a concrete duck that moves around now too in addition to St. Peter.

Did two dives there yesterday. Viz was pretty decent, in the 30-40 foot range. Temps were still in the high 50's up to 40 feet, and down to the upper 40's deeper. But since we were the only two divers there we saw more catfish and turtles than I've seen there before. We came out of the rear of the plane on our second dive and there was a big old cat siting on on starboard wing. It was pretty cool.

Last weekend it was around 48 degrees at the tubes (~60 ft).
The temps near the surface were around 65 degrees. Viz was ok in areas and poor where all the classes had been. There were still quite a few classes going on. Winds were high and the temps dropped into the 30s at night. It felt good to be in the water.

Does anyone have any current conditions on Gilboa???

Well, I dive a 6.5 mil john/shorty with 5 mil gloves, hood, & boots.

It's not necessary to be that warm if you saty above 40', but if you plan on making it out to the tubes, you need it.

That suit will be a problem when you hit about 80 ft. That's where my old 6.5 mil Harvey's semi dry stopped being warm. It let me know how bad I wanted a drysuit. It didn't take long to make that purchase. About 2 month's if I remember correctly.

I'm wearing a Mares Isotherm 6.5 mil semi-dry. It's pretty comfortable even at the tubes right now but I'm not sure for how much longer.
