OK, I know that this is a real silly question but I have to ask it anyway.:dork2:

We have dove at Gilboa a few times, normally it is either Sunday afternoon or during the week, so never during the busy times. But each time we have noticed people setting up their gear in differnt spots. And once we had people putting their gear together on the actual platform that you get in the water, and that made a major bottle neck!

So what I am tring to figure out is if we don't pay for a camp site, but we pay to park back there were are we to put our gear together, mooch a picnic table, or use the benchs down by the water? Or where?

We have done it both at picnic tables and the benches, and never been yelled at by Mike, so I guess we must not be doing anything too wrong, but just thought there had to be a "correct" way, that wouldn't get strange looks!

Thanks!

My understanding is if you paid to park back there, you just set up an area by your car, if a picnic table is handy use it, if one isn't just spread out your tarp or whatever.

If you don't pay to park, you just drop off you "stuff" and put it on the benches down by the platforms.

If you pay to park, you get all the amenities of the campsite: space, picnic table, fire ring. You can gear up at your site and walk down to the entry platforms. Sometimes I take my heavy stuff down to the tables such as weights and BC and tank, dress at my campsite and then finish off at the tables on the lower deck. If there are many non-parkers, Mike would rather have the staging tables for those people than for those who park at a campsite. The entry platforms are not to be used as staging areas for the very reason you mentioned.
