Talc does help a lot! However, as your suit booklet probably tells you, don't use anything but pure talc - not the scented stuff you might have laying around. The scented stuff will damage the seals. As for bottles of talc or those little pads, I've got one of those and it seems to last a long time. There's no waste so it might be better than the bottles.

Congratulations on the suit!

It's here, it's here!!!! FINALLY!

DAMN, I'm late to the party! (Dental issues - :scared:)

First of all, big time congratulations, Missy!!! :D :D :D Secondly, even more congratulations on trying on your LBD without choking yourself to death on the untrimmed seals or getting stuck in it (not that *I've* ever done either, but I've heard stories...;)). And thirdly, I see the "boys" are already giving you crap... :sigh:. Mitten biff 'em all...:smash:

Thanks :D
They're just jealous, silly boys have nothing better to do :shakehead
As far as trimming the seals goes I have a question: somebody suggested REALLY sharp scissors, which I don't have, somebody else suggested a pizza-cutterish thingy which I also do not have. I DO however have surgical grade stainless steal scalpel blades and scalpels. Might a 20 blade be an appropriate seal trimming tool?

I've done more than a few paddling suits (same gaskets as the trilam suits) with only semi-sharp scissors and once a pair of rusty emt shears (I always seem to forget to trim them till I put them on). Biggest thing is getting the cut straight with no sharp angles for it to start to rip. Straight is ideal, wavy line will work, v-notch will tear out sooner or later.

Scalpels should work fine, but it might be more dificult to get straight lines.

Another trimming question:

Is the neck seal supposed to be above or on my adam's apple? I'm thinking below is too low.

?

The bump on the front of your throat, more prominent in boys than girls. I am trying to figure out where the seal is supposed to sit.

It should be as low as you can reasonably wear it, certainly below your adams apple. As far as the scalpel goes, it should work just fine, but you should stretch it over a suitably sized container, like a can or tank. That way you can easily follow the trim line around it. Just be careful not to make a jagged edge where it will leave a weak point. Im sure you will do fine..........Anyone that knows what catawhatthehellisthat is has my vote of confidence!

i was jsut thinking. how embarassed shes gonna be when she has to have a new seal put n a new suit.

JK i have confidence in you :)
