The things buddies never tell each other. It has to have a layer of ice almost by now. But in a week and a half I should be free to dive again anywhere. Ide welcome a semi ice dive Dave. You seemed pretty cozy down there. I am sure you noticed how I kept inching up in an upward slope along the wall as we headed back. I liken that dive to the tomb raider game due to the magnifican brownstone walls in dark clear water. I'de love to get back in ASAP and maybe check out that hole that we were near but never ventured into it.

Great! sounds like a plan. I was there last Sat. a balmy 45 on the surface! A little lower though and.....Saw a monster carp! About 5', and there is a monster eel to keep it company! has to be over 3' long. Jim Jam got a picture of it.

I am ordering some 300 wt. polertec undies cut to my size. The ones that came with the suit are like 100's or something I haven't quite figured out how drysuit undies are classified and labelled yet.:06:

Congratulations! Nothing like the thrill of new gear! :14: The 300 wt should be good for your winter diving. Since you're in the petite side framewise, you may benefit from additional layers and socks. The t-100 that came with your suit will be good enough for your summer diving, but won't do much good in the winter. Congrats again and enjoy. Once you start diving dry, it's hard to go back to wetsuits. At least when it comes to cold water. Happy and safe diving.

that eel is a HOOT! I poked it up the wall a ways, and it kind of seemed to not be too bothered by it. Biggest FW eel I ever saw.

I beleive American eels can hit 4-6'. I wouldn't poke it if I were you, they can give a nasty bite. I assume the quarry is somehow connected to the river since eels are catadromous? If we see a BIG carp swimming by with fins hanging out of its mouth we'll know what happened to Chris after he passed out from his icecream headache

There is an old tunnel at water level that crosses under the road, and goes out to the river. It was built long ago to help pump out water. The whole catawhatthehellisthat thing is waaaaay out of my league!...... So old slimmey is a nipper huh? Who knew?

As far as the undies... You mean BESIDES me?

Allright geese seems our truce has a few wrinkles to short out. Your quite fiesty for one who seems to get an overabundance of vitamin A. Have you been taken over by a barnacle. Yes coach she's going to need very thick garmets and maybe doubled up. ~ with a corset over them so she can get into her suit.
